‘Revealment – Datguddiad’ is a book of poems by Dai Jenkins and images of sculptures by Alison Lochhead. The poems and the sculptures are conceived separately; they have resonance to each other but are not directly responding to each.
The sculptures are wrought from the raw materials of the earth; clay, iron, wood, oxides, rocks – they fuse, tear apart, explode and transform. The poems are wrought from words which play together, jar and explore the wryness and incongruity of life. The poems and the sculptures respond to injustices, shared pasts and memories, the ongoing conflicts and the apparent inability of those in power not to abuse it and learn from past experience.
